Buildings and Grounds News
Highlights from the 2004 Buildings and Grounds Committee Report
During 2004 the Committee received a lot of help from many members of the congregation who volunteered their time and effort with spring clean up, lawn mowing, and fall leaf raking. Alice Serfis did an excellent job maintaining the plantings surrounding the buildings. In order to conserve energy, Sunday services were held in the Center during the months of January and February.
The Activities and Projects of this Committee for 2004:
- The Center bathrooms were renovated
- The fence surrounding the playground area was replaced
- The corner windows in the Center were replaced, and the trees and bushes which were obstructing the windows were removed
- A new water heater for the Center was installed by Bronson Service Corp
- The annual fire extinguisher inspection was performed by Jim Corbett; Barkley's Safe and Lock accomplished the annual fire alarm certification
- RSI Roofing inspected the slate roof and made repairs
- Hyde-Stone performed annual preventive maintenance on the heating system and replaced the circulation pump that serves the main Head Start area
- A projection screen for the Center was purchased and installed
- New fiberglass outer doors were puchased for the connector and installed
- A portable audio system was purchased from Northern Music and Video
Respectively submitted, David Morrison, Chair
