Adult Bible Study
Adult Bible Study is at held at 9:00am in the Head Start room. We are using two books about women in the Bible to frame our study. The first, Just Wives?, written by Katherine Doob Sakenfeld, examines the complexity of the lives of eleven women in the Old Testament, including Sarah, Ruth, Naomi, Bathsheba and others. The second, Back to the Well, written by Frances Taylor Gench, focuses on certain women who encounter Jesus. The author analyzes language, sociocultural and literary context, structure of each story while recounting traditional and contemporary interpretations. All adults are invited to attend and participate.

Confirmation Journey
A confirmation journey will begin this September for those young people in the eighth grade and above. It is an eight-week course that will explore the sacraments, faith commitment and how one finds his/her place in the church. We will learn what it means to be Presbyterian, how to seek God’s presence in troubled times, how to make decisions based on biblical principles, and how to accept the grace of Jesus Christ in everyday living.
A part of this journey will be a look into the Study Catechism in addressing pertinent issues that affect young people today. A letter will go out to individuals and their parents explaining more in detail this special journey, the logistics, time and place.

Vacation Bible School - August, 2005
Vacation Bible School
Our MINC-sponsored Ecumenical Vacation Bible School was held August 15-19 in the center. Forty-two children from the community attended. Behind the scenes, and on the scenes, eighteen adults, youths, and junior helpers from the United Methodist and Presbyterian Churches worked to make the week a great success. Thanks to everyone, and especially to chief organizer: Ranota Hewitson!
Congratulations to the recipients of Bibles this spring!
