The Sunday School children will begin collecting pennies for the Heifer Project on Sunday, January 22. Please bring any pennies you might want to contribute to their collection. Thank you. |
Presbyterians Today Subscription Several people signed up to purchase their own subscription of resbyterians Today. If you were one of them, please submit $7.00 (cash or check made payable to the Church) to the secretary no later than Sunday, January 29th. If papying by check, it would be helpful if you DO NOT include payment in your contribution checks to the the Church - a separate check would be much appreciated. Thank you! |
Helping Hands Needs
The Food Pantry at Helping Hands has some immediate needs: pasta, spaghetti sauce, canned fruit, tuna, juice, jam or jelly, canned stews, canned meat, crackers and shampoo. Donations can be dropped in the Helping Hands Collection box in the hallway outside the church office. Thank you for your support.

Nursery Clean-Up
We have been blessed with a congregation full of young children and we are pleased to be able to provide them with a nursery to play in. Recently we agreed to allow the Headstart program to use the nursery in the mornings Monday through Friday to work with a special needs child. Therefore, we are asking for your help in making sure the nursery is picked up each Sunday after the church service. Thank you for your help.

Learn to knit
There is a knitting class now to teach anyone who wants to learn to knit. We hope there are many kids as well as adults interested. We have a couple of mission related knitting projects in mind to work on as you learn, so that you'll have practice and results all at the same time; and once you learn to knit, there are all kinds of possibilities. Let us know if you're interested by calling the church office, Sharon Pickard (265-4129) or Jane Wells (265-5325).

If you can help with this ministry please sign up on the sheet outside the conference room bulletin board or on the table in the rear of the Church. Those needing rides please contact a Deacon or the church office with your name, phone number and address.

Wanted: Used VHS/DVD Movies
A collection box has been place in the Center for collecting old VHS/DVD movies. John Carey of Wilkes-Barre, PA, is doing a project as part of becoming an Eagle Scout; he is assembling a library of movies for use by patients of the Wilkes-Barre VA Hospital. Dave Wells will see that donations will be delivered to John. No "X" or "R"-rated movies will be included in the library. Thank you.

Web Site Briefing
Our church web site has two main purposes: to reach out to our neighbors, telling them who we are and what we do; and to be a resource of information for our own church community. The left-side navigation headings help our web site visitors find general information about our church; many also proclaim to the world those things our church holds most dear: Spiritual Life, Worship and Music, Serving Others, God's Church, Education, Youth, and College. Navigation links to our church community information pages (i.e. links to Session, Deacons, Committees, and Groups) can be found on the page "Who We Are." Announcements (from bulletin inserts, the "Parish Paper," etc.) are found on the "Church Family" page. Events are noted both on the "Home" page (linked from the Presbyterian logo in the upper left corner) and also on the "Calendar" page (linked from the calendar in the upper right corner). The link "More…" wherever it appears, takes you to more information. Use our website: bookmark this page or the home page! Help keep it current and relevant: e-mail corrections, changes, information, pictures to rkreuzer@stlawu.edu.
