Worship & Music Committee News
Highlights from the 2004 Worship & Music Committee Report
- Sally Skyrm has resumed her duties of recruiting greeters.
- A new process for finding volunteer readers was instituted: from now on committee members take a quarterly turn at this task.
- Also changed, how we find servers for Communion: each Session member is assigned now to find servers for one month.
- It was decided to serve Communion more frequently: at a minimum, once a month, on the first Sunday of the month. Communion also is served on: Ash Wednesday, the first Sunday in Lent, Maundy Thursday, Easter, Pentecost, World Communion Sunday, first Sunday in Advent, and Christmas Eve.
- Another "something new" is Emerging Worship. In 2004 these services were held in June, July, and November. Those attenidng appreciated the variety and intimacy of a "new" type of worship. Pam Whittet spearheaded the planning and organizing of these services.
- Special thanks to Laura Toland for her wonderful work as Music Director; her insight and input remain extremely valuable to the Worship and Music Committee.
- Thank you also to the Committee members, and to the other members of the congregation who share their time and talents to assist in providing services that enrich our faith through Words and Music.
Respectfully submitted, Jennifer MacDonald, Chair 2004
