We can look at each asana and see these forces working within our bodies. Trillium Yoga RoomTherapeutic Cello Sound HealingTherapeutic Cello Sound Healing
–
July 6, 2025Cello sound healing is a therapeutic immersion, akin to a sound bath, where the cello’s voice-like frequencies resonate deeply with the listener, promoting a sense of connection. Each session begins with a grounding mindfulness meditation, guiding participants through mindful breathing and a golden light visualization. Using octaves, trills, and pentatonic scales, Alisa crafts a soothing soundscape that incorporates harmonics, sustained drones, and the gentle resolution of dissonance. These techniques, combined with the cello’s rich, familiar tones, help release emotional tension and induce a meditative state, encouraging balance, clarity, and profound relaxation. To register for Therapeutic Cell Sound Healing, contact Alisa: dralisawoods@gmail.com
Alisa Woods, Ph.D., LMHC, owns a mental health counseling practice in Potsdam and was recently awarded a grant from the Maxine M. Quigg Women in Business Fund of the Northern New York Community Foundation. This grant supported her training in sound therapy with renowned cellist Elizabeth Byrd.
Alisa has a Ph.D. in behavioral neuroscience and a master’s in mental health counseling. She began playing cello at age seven, studies with Christian Hosmer, and performs with several orchestras, including the Northern Lights and the St. Lawrence University String Orchestras.
She also leads Melodic Minds, a NYSCA-funded program celebrating neurodiversity through music. Alisa’s family—her two children, Celeste and Constantine, and husband, Costel, share her passion for music.

July 20, 2025Yoga Lab is a class for all levels, beginners included! The first 60-minutes are all about finding structural alignment in yoga postures accompanied by time and pause for reflection. The forces of nature govern our bodies functions and well-being. There is an expanding force, a contracting force, a grounding and a rising force. We can look at each asana and see these forces working within our bodies. It’ is when we most efficiently harness the forces of nature inside of us that we can begin to move efficiently and sustainably through our lives! The final half hour will be a guided meditation inspired by the techniques of Yoga Nidra. A deep rest and reset.
